3840×2160 is 4K UHD: four 1080p frames in one, and the native resolution of most modern televisions and an increasing share of desktop monitors. It is the size to target when a wallpaper needs to stay sharp on a high-DPI screen, when artwork will be shown on a large panel, or when you want room to crop later without losing resolution. The honest caveat is source material. Resizing a 1200px image up to 3840px wide produces a 4K file, but not 4K detail — the result will look soft next to a genuinely high-resolution original. Start from the largest version you have. At this size the output file is also substantially bigger, so use the quality slider to keep it manageable.
You can produce a 3840×2160 file, but upscaling cannot create detail that was never captured — it enlarges existing pixels. For genuine sharpness start from a high-resolution original, or try an AI upscaler first.
