Every size below is quoted from the authority that issues the document, and linked so you can check it yourself. The tool crops to that exact size at 300 DPI in your browser — the photo is never uploaded, which is the point when it is going onto an identity document.
Where do these sizes come from?
Each one is copied from the issuing authority's own published page, which is linked on the country page along with the date it was last read. Nothing here is included on the strength of what other sites repeat.
Why isn't Schengen listed?
Because the European Commission's own page defers to ICAO guidelines rather than stating dimensions, and a number repeated across the web is not a sourced number. It will be added when a primary source is found, not before.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The crop runs in your browser, which matters for a photo that is going onto an identity document.
Does the right size mean my photo will be accepted?
No — size is one rule of several. Expression, glasses, head coverings, background, lighting, print quality and how recent the photo is are all set by the authority, and they change. The country page links their rules.
