India uses the same 45×35 mm rectangle as the UK and Australia, published in centimetres, with a white background rather than a light grey one. Passport Seva is specific about print quality rather than size: Polaroids, ordinary office printers and phone snapshots do not scan acceptably, and the photographs are affixed to the printed application form, so the print itself is what gets judged.
